Surveying Buildings – new RICS standard now includes energy efficiency retrofit requirements
The RICS new Home Surveying Standard which comes into force in December, requires at all levels of service for RICS members and regulated firms to identify and advise on defects and deficiencies caused by inappropriate energy efficiency measures. This means that surveyors must deem themselves sufficiently competent in retrofit.
You do have to hold the Level 3 Award qualification in the energy efficiency and retrofit of traditional buildings - why?
A ‘Retrofit Evaluator’ in PAS2035 must be a qualified ‘Retrofit Co-ordinator’ and ‘Retrofit Evaluator’ must hold the Level 3 Award qualification if working on any traditional building in any risk path.
