Surveying Buildings – new RICS standard now includes energy efficiency retrofit requirements
The RICS new Home Surveying Standard which comes into force in December, requires at all levels of service for RICS members and regulated firms to identify and advise on defects and deficiencies caused by inappropriate energy efficiency measures. This means that surveyors must deem themselves sufficiently competent in retrofit.
Energy Efficiency & Retrofit of Traditional Buildings – 2 day course

This has become the established course in retrofitting traditional buildings and is the only course of its kind that achieves a real qualification and is a requirement under PAS2035.
You do have to hold the Level 3 Award qualification in the energy efficiency and retrofit of traditional buildings - why?
A ‘Retrofit Evaluator’ in PAS2035 must be a qualified ‘Retrofit Co-ordinator’ and ‘Retrofit Evaluator’ must hold the Level 3 Award qualification if working on any traditional building in any risk path.
Damp in Buildings – including a new methodology* - 1 day course

Damp is the biggest problem in buildings and in this course there will be a focus on the theory behind moisture and dampness along with the methods of detection and the way it should be properly treated. The course also includes the new draft *methodology agreed between the RICS and others - the course is delivered by a co-author of this methodology.
This takes learners through the retrofit process based on PAS 2035. Ideal for clients who want to make sure that they get the most of PAS 2035 and appoint the right team. Also suitable for others without a stipulated PAS 2035 role. The course is delivered by a member of the PAS 2035 production group.
